ADVANCE Hosts a Reception Honoring Provost Joan Lorden

The UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Faculty Affairs and Diversity Office hosted a reception on April 30, 2014 to honor Provost Joan Lorden, who was recently elected as a 2014 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Dr. Lorden was granted this distinction by peers in recognition of her significant career contributions to the field of neuroscience and to graduate education. The organization specifically cited her efforts to increase the retention of women and underrepresented minorities in science and engineering.
